A familiar non-league football name has been in touch to ask if any clubs from our league would like to stage a friendly against his team at the end of July.
Steve Whitney is best known as editor of the website nonleaguedaily.com and for his contributions to various non-league publications over the years, but he has another non-league 'hat' as he is also chairman of United Counties League Division One club Rushden & Higham United, who play at Step 6 in the pyramid.
Steve is bringing his team up for a long weekend in pre-season at the end of July and they will be based in the Manchester area. They are looking to for a friendly fixture over the weekend they are up here, and any club interested in offering some good old fashioned Northern hospitality to Steve and his team should contact him via e-mail at whitney@btconnect.com.
