Glossop North End travel to Volair Park this weekend to play struggling Prescot Cables in the Evo-Stik First Division North (KO 15:00 BST).
Last Saturday’s 1-1 draw with mid-table Bamber Bridge sees the Hillmen looking over their shoulder as the teams below them all won with the hunt for the play-offs hotting up.
Prescot’s last outing was on Tuesday evening as they thumped now-relegated Burscough 4-0 at home.
However, the Tigers possess the third leakiest defence in the league – shipping 74 goals all season.
And with only four games remaining and 12 points still up for grabs, Glossop manager Chris Willcock will see this weekend’s game as the perfect opportunity for his team to be firing on all cylinders.
The two teams last locked horns on January 7 at Surrey Street as the home side claimed all three points after a 3-1 win.
Brian Richardson’s Prescot have become draw specialists in recent weeks after four of their last six games have ended all square.
Glossop have only lost two of their previous last nine fixtures – winning six and scoring a total of 16 goals in the process.
Glossop have found recent success off the pitch too after being named the Evo-Stik First Division North club of the month for March.
It is the second time the Surrey Street club were given the award after winning it way back in October.
Prescot meanwhile were recently deducted three points after a disciplinary panel sat on March 2 to consider charges brought against the club in relation to breaking Rule 6.9, Playing an Ineligible Player.
