First Team Management Leave The Club
Glossop North End AFC announce that following a season which did not fulfil the expectations of the Club or its Supporters, the management team of Garry Brown and Paul Williams have left the club.
The club is looking to move forward positively into next season and will start a re-building exercise with immediate effect. Part of that re-building exercise will include the appointment of a First Team Manager with proven capability of developing a successful team at Step 5 of the National League System or above.
Applications for the role, with a CV, are invited from all interested parties. The closing date for applications is Monday 20th May 2013. Please contact Football Secretary Stewart Taylor by e-mail at s.taylor@glossopnorthendafc.
The Directors wish to record their thanks to Garry and Paul for their hard work during the season, especially when they stepped into the breach following the mid season managerial change. We wish them every success in their future careers.
Wembley Hero Dave Young Retires
Whilst talk in the national press focuses on a retirement of Manchester United’s manager, we at Surrey Street are rather more affected by the decision to retire of our former captain, Dave Young.
Dave had decided to quit playing at the end of the season before his Mossley side suffered last minute heartache at Cammell Laird on Saturday, conceding in injury time to be eliminated from their league play-offs, and confirmed his thoughts afterwards.
Presentation Evening 2013
Congratulations to all the award winners at last night's presentation evening and many many thanks to all supporters, volunteers, officials, management and players for all their hard work throughout the season.
Scoreless End To The Season

It had been a difficult week for Bacup Borough. Bad weather earlier in the season had produced a fixture backlog like no other, well, not since last season anyway. And we can imagine the thoughts of their management team as this week unfolded.
