Welcome to our new
Football and Education Programme in partnership with Glossopdale Sixth Form. This is a new initiative which is part of the club’s long-term plan and is in line with the clubs vision of discovering the very best young players in the area. This course provides an excellent and varied programme giving you access to Higher Education or a wide variety of careers in Sport. You will develop your skills, knowledge and understanding in Sport through participation in both football sessions and physical gym training, taking place throughout the duration of the course. It’s the goal of the Football programme to provide opportunities for elite players to participate in training with the Glossop North End AFC senior squad on a regular basis. This programme will be entering its first year September 2023 and will be based at the Glossopdale site on Newshaw Lane, with competitive matches being played at The Asgard Engineering Stadium, home of the First Team. Coached by our BTEC dedicated coach, we ensure the very best quality on the training ground and that each player’s development is closely monitored so that any progression into the 1st team can be timed just right. Students study on the Level 3 extended diploma which gives them great exit routes into the sports industry or into further education. BTEC National Diploma in Sport for September 2023. Content:
During this course, you will study a total of fourteen units. Ten mandatory units will provide a general foundation and four specialist units will introduce you to particular topics in more depth.
Mandatory Units:
For students who do not achieve a grade 4 in their English and/or Maths we deliver a GCSE resit programme in both these subjects.
