Cup Month Continues

September has seen the Glossop fixture list dominated by cup competition matches. Saturday sees the fouth consecutive cup fixture as North End take on Formby in the second round qualifying of the FA Vase at Surrey Street.  Kick off is at 3pm.

The fixture was originally scheduled to be a home tie for Formby, but was switched to Surrey Street because their temproary home at Burscough was unavailable.  

This is Formby's first season playing at Victoria Park after ground grading issues saw them denied promotion to the Premier Division last season despite them clinching the First Division title.

Formby, alongside Glossop are both founder members of the North West Counties Football league back in 1982. The two clubs last met in January 2011 in a league fixture which saw Glossop run out 3-0 winners with goals from Elliot and Morris (2).
