Club Mourns Loss of President Terry Boak

It is with much regret that the club have learnt of the passing of Glossop North End President Terry Boak.

Terry involvement with the football club began about 35 years ago when his company BKC construction were hired to build the then new Clubhouse at very short notice. The club had bought a second hand unit but when it was delivered it was found to be in a far worse condition than the one which had just been demolished! Terry took control and BKC helped the club out of a serious situation.

From that point on Terry was involved in the club and helped out in various ways – from providing oil for the central heating to sponsoring the Clubman of the Year award. He became a major Shareholder of the old Glossop FC and supported numerous fund raising ventures over the years. Terry was a very quiet man and although he preferred to remain in the background, he became Club President in the late 1980s. He was also the clubs guest of honour when we got to Wembley in 2009.

Terry's Funeral will be held next Friday 8th November at Old Glossop Parish Church, at 1.00pm where a full service and interment will take place. The family have booked Glossop Cricket club for after the service and everyone will be welcome to attend.

A "One minute silence" in memory of Terry will be held before our home game with Runcorn Town on Tuesday the 5th November.
