Glossop North End welcomed Stalybridge Celtic to Surrey Street in their fourth pre-season fixture. Glossop took an early lead after 10 minutes after what looked like an own goal after Neil Chappell was brought down in the box (but I’m sure Neil Chappell will claim it) and the ball ended up in the back of the net. This was then followed up by what was described by supporters as a sublime lob of the keeper by returning player Sam Hind. The first half finished 2-1 after Stalybridge pulled one back.
The second half continued at a similar pace and quality as that of the first half, however there were no goals to show for it. Both keepers saved their chances well although they were not troubled too much.
We wish Stalybridge Celtic the best of luck this season in the Conference North.
Glossop travel to Spennymoor Town in their penultimate pre-season match on Saturday.
