It was interesting to note the comments of committee members and supporters of Trafford AFC during the recent Manchester Cup tie. Their last visit to the ground had been on the last day of the 2007-8 season. They all remarked on the huge improvement in spectator and playing facilities and were especially impressed by our clubhouse.
It is good to remind ourselves about the progress we have made in the last few seasons. As the Club AGM recognised in November, this is a well run club which is debt-free and looking to the future with confidence. The Directors are thinking hard about the progress we want to make in the next few years.
We would like to involve all our volunteers and supporters in this process. We would like to hear how you want your club to develop. Any ideas which contribute to improving GNE are welcome.
The plan will cover the following areas
- Maintaining an efficient and effective club administration which meets all legal and financial requirements.
- Achieving our financial objectives to remain debt-free and to grow our income to support the ambitions of everyone at Glossop North End.
- Achieving sustainable success on the football pitch
- Continuing to improve facilities for players and fans
- Building strong links with the local community
You may have ideas which can help us. For example you may have views on these questions:-
- How can we attract more volunteers? Volunteers are the lifeblood of a successful club.
- How can we raise the profile of the Club in the town?
- How can we raise attendances at matches? Income from the gate is a huge part of our budget.
- How can we increase our income from other sources?
- What improvements would you like to see to the ground in the future?
