Match Details

Glossop North End and Scarborough fought out an attritional 0-0 draw on Tuesday night, which wasn’t what the Hillmen fans had hoped for after they made the long journey east, but is likely will be a satisfactory point in the final shake up come April.

Defences were well on top all game, with very few chances created. In the first half Tom Bailey couldn’t adjust his body sufficiently to get enough purchase on an attempted lob of the keeper, whilst at the other end Gary Bradshaw swiveled a shot from the edge of the area just over the bar.

The second period was almost identical to the first, with clipped balls into the channels being mopped up by both back fours comfortably and again a only one real chance per side.

For the home side the lively Tom Corner burst into the box and forced a good save from Greg Hall as he advanced off his line to smother the shot. Corner vociferously claimed he had been tugged back and impeded, but the referee gave nothing.

The Glossop North End chance was almost a mirror image as substitute Jamie Rainford, back from injury, collected a Kieran Lugsden pass with space to advance on goal, but Seasider’s keeper Rob Zand blocked his drive.
